A Farewell from Paul and Penny… a hello to Tipsy Pigeon!
After 40 years in the restaurant trade Paul and Penny are to enjoy a well-deserved “semi-retirement” and have made the decision to cook up the final treat and close the doors to “Pauls”…. but fear not, they have had a visit from an an old friend!
Many moons ago, Paul’s first restaurant in Folkestone was the “Tipsy Pigeon” – and it is now “Tipsy’s” figure that looks out over the conservatory that was once “Pauls Restaurant” and welcomes you in for a completely new dining experience come breakfast, lunch or dinner, with a revamped taster menu, curious cocktails and perfectly priced wines.
They say as one door closes, another opens, but in this case.. it is the same door!
Paul and Penny are still the proprietors but have handed over the reigns of “Tipsy Pigeon” to their experienced Head Chef Clive Lowe and his merry team.
Don’t worry, they will still be popping in now and again… only this time they’ll be on the other side of the table enjoying a bit of breakfast, sipping on a cocktail at the “Tipsy” bar, or seeing what the latest taster offering on the menu is!
But some things just don’t need changing….
The “Infamous Gypsy Tart”, along with all the other desserts will still be made by Penny with help from Sue! (with Pauls for over 24 years).
Sunday’s will still be bustling with the tried and tested Sunday Carvery lunch which is a regular sell out so we recommend that you reserve your table in advance.
